How are you today? How’s your day looking? Are you feeling organised and working through your list of things to do?
Or are you multi-tasking and stressing about how much you’ve got to do?!? Replying to a few emails, starting some, leaving some open to finish off later, thinking I’ll leave that and make that phone call, I need to sort out my Accounts too and I’ll just finish off that presentation!? Or are you getting easily distracted with a quick tweet, checking facebook, your phone and how many web pages do you have open right now?!!
If you’re really busy it’s tempting to start lots of different things on your to do list, but how many do you actually finish by the end of the day? Have you started 10 things by 10am and finishing none by 6pm and still feel worn out?! Multi-tasking is so last decade!!
Focus is the new F Word. I invite you to discover what happens when you focus on one thing at a time. Turn off all distractions. Choose one thing to do. Focus and just do that.
Focusing on one thing at a time really helps to stop that overwhelming feeling and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how much you can get done by the end of the day.
It feels great to actually finish things doesn’t it? Think about that for a moment. Imagine that you’ve already finished two of your tasks today. You’ve done it. Tick. Tick off another job on your list. You’ve completed that. Tick. Good. Now when you return to your work, turn off everything else except the one thing that you want to get done and finished. Focus on that and only that. Give it your commitment, your attention, your focus. You like it when you get that don’t you? Over the next few days and weeks ahead, to get more things done, remember Focus is the new F Word.
