“Books make great gifts because they have whole worlds inside of them. And it’s much cheaper to buy somebody a book than it is to buy them the whole world!”
I loved that quote when I read it on Penguin’s newsletter, and good timing! Recently I attended my client’s book launch and book signings.
Do you have a book inside you waiting to come out?
People say we all have a book inside us, but it’s getting it done that’s the trick!
Here’s my clients’, now published authors 3 Top Tips to help you ‘get it done’
1. “Just take the first step, write something, anything and keep on doing so” Kate Tojeiro said.
2. “Treat writing like your day job. Show up every day come rain or shine, even when you are feeling demotivated and uninspired. 90% perspiration, 10% inspiration” said Caroline Flanagan.
3. “Set yourself a deadline for the first draft, then book ‘meetings with your chapters’. So you block the time out for chapter 1, then if something else comes up that day you move the meeting. Then enjoy your quiet time writing!” said Inge Woudstra.
And, drum roll please….Here are their books! 3 Great Reads for you…
Great for secret santa gifts, to treat yourself or someone you know, and share the inspiration. It could change someone’s life.
The Art of Possible by Kate Tojeiro is a brilliant book to help you seek out new adventures in your life.
Kick-started from seeing Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman’s 3 month trip in Long Way Round, Kate decided to sign up for her own off road motorbike challenge across the Pyrenees to raise money for two children’s charities.
A novice motorcyclist, Kate learned that when you overcome something scary, it can turn the feared into something brilliant, a changed life.
Here we are in in London Review Bookshop for Kate’s book signing. I wanted to support her and see the book now it’s live and kicking! It’s in hard back too for a change. A great gift for someone.
The Art of Possible is written as a journal, set out to help you get to the heart of whatever it is that you’re seeking to achieve and then find the techniques and actions that will make the difference to you.
What new adventures do you want to have?
