maximising visitor engagementHere’s one of my clients from my Mastermind Group,  Laura Milligan of Laura Felicity Designs, showcasing her products at an industry event.  Her beautiful hand made screen printed wallpapers for elegant, unique interiors, lampshades, cushions and soft furnishing. Helping to create a happier home for you to live in

It takes time creating your range for your a show, so you want to maximise your opportunities when you get the chance to showcase your products. There’s marketing opportunities to maximise and prepare for.

Here’s 6 Tips to Maximise visitor engagement at your Show:

1. Brand your stand – use your company colours, get a sign made or a banner. Make it look inviting, on-brand and importantly, make it stand out.

2. Newsletter – You will be inviting people to sign up to your newsletter during the show, won’t you!

Do remember to write an after-show email too, e.g. ‘Thanks for popping by – here’s your Show Special offer’ email. They’ve seen so many other products at the show, remind them what your unique offer is.

3. Pricing and Profit – before you think of offering discounts at the show or event, work out what profit margin do you need to make? Then, consider what ‘Show Discount’ might you offer? At least 20% discount usually catches people’s eyes. 10% isn’t usually enough. What discount attracts you to buy or drives you to make an impulse buy?

4. Product or Service Show Special – what do you want to promote the most? what do you want your ideal clients to remember you for? An exclusive range for the show?

5. Social Media – post before, during and after and create a buzz about your location, products, post pictures and where they can find you at the show.  Use the show’s #hashtag in your posts and create your own too. People love a # and makes searching for you easier.

6. Go Sparkle! Have fun at your event. Yes it’s hard work, I’ve done many an event and got the blisters to prove it, so top tip, don’t wear new shoes! But importantly, enjoy yourself, be proud of your achievements, look what you’ve created! Chat to your visitors, do a little market research, what do they like the most? what other products would they like to see in your range? what do you want to find out?

I’m sure there is more to do, but hopefully that’s got you started and focused. A few things to plan into your preparation so you maximise your time and efforts and turn them into opportunities. We like those!

Here’s Laura’s site to have a look at her beautiful designs especially if you’re looking for a unique design for your home or office. She can even add embroidery and 3D butterflies to your wallpaper if you wish.

And here’s a jeweller, Katherine Bree Jewellery, that caught my eye, beautiful polished gems, agate and lava rocks on a bracelet! Very talented ladies.
