I had a very exciting Wednesday afternoon when I spoke at Google HQ.

Wow it was scary but fun!

I was a guest panelist alongside Constant Contact, sharing tips on how I help my clients find their voice, create, plan and deliver their newsletters and grow their business, and talked about the success of my newsletters that I write to my subscribers, called Make Your Mondays Matter. 

Google is just what I imagined with guys on electronic hover boards (don’t know the technical name for them!) break out areas everywhere, and I spotted purple and silver velvet booths to work in, oh I wish we were allowed to take pictures!

Anyway, I learned some very important facts about Google’s view on the rise of mobile advertising and the importance of paid search, so am sharing them with you today.

86% of UK Consumers are online every day.

International eCommerce markets have seen a 30% growth, with alibaba.com reaping in a HUGE $9.3 BILLION in one day with their cyber Monday sale. WOW.

Google searches are seeing a huge increase on what people are now searching for with more than 3 times the number of people putting ‘How to’ and ‘Why’ in their search queries, as apposed to the usual ‘what’ searches for products.

So, your valuable content and information is getting searched for, not just your products. 

Listen to these numbers….

Of 100 Billion search queries Google receive every month, 15% are new – which is 6,000 queries PER SECOND.

Paid search is now of ever-increasing importance to combine into your marketing. 

65% of search is going to be paid for

and by 2018 more than 50% of ad spend will be driven by mobile.

AND

76% of consumers have bought from good emails.
