I hope you had a good October and have started to make progress on your Q4 goals.Ā Ā I had a busy month working with new clients, attended lots of networking, and spoke at the Algarve Womenās Network event, sharing some of my Effective Networking Tips: how to make an impact while AT the events.
Today Iād like to share with you what to do AFTER attending networking events, starting with someĀ statistics to help you make more progress in Q4, and beyond.Ā
Did you know that after a first call, a meeting or connecting with someone at an event, LESS THANĀ 50% of people will follow up again. Only 50% !?!Ā
And ONLYĀ 25 %Ā of people will take the time to follow upĀ twice,
and
ONLYĀ 12%Ā will make the effort to follow upĀ threeĀ times or more.
So when you look at those statistics you can see how much easier it can be toĀ stand out from the crowd andĀ move your business forward when YOU follow up more.

As the statistics from McGraw Hill state,Ā 80% of sales are made on the 5th to 12thĀ point of contact; this cements the fact that if you put time and effort into following up more,Ā you will see more results, make more sales and grow your business.
In all my years of experience coaching hundreds of consultants, coaches, business owners and teams to feel more confident and successfully make more sales to grow their businesses, I can say these stats are true!
So youāve probably guessed what I advise your Action PointĀ to be this month? Yes, it’s to follow up more often.
Business success takes time, yet following up more often WILL help you achieve more results faster. Wouldnāt that feel good?
To give you a head start today, hereĀ are 5 examples of WHO to follow up with:
1.Ā Who have you met recently that youād like to meet up with again?Ā Maybe you started to talk about each otherās business and then lunch arrived! You could arrange to meet them at the next event or do you feel you want to have more of a private conversation and would like a one-to-one?
Call them to see if theyād like toĀ carry on the conversationĀ over coffee or arrange an online meeting.
2.Ā Who did you try following up with over the summer,Ā but they were too busy to talk then or on holiday? Donāt forget them! Follow up with them again.
3.Ā Who said to ‘give me a callĀ after the half-term holiday’? Add a reminder to your calendar to follow up with them next week. Theyāve asked you to!
Give them a callĀ Ā or arrange to meet them for coffeeĀ Ā and see where the conversation takes you this time.
4.Ā Who has received a proposalĀ from you but hasnāt got back to you yet?
Follow up and Find outĀ what questions they have, and what needs to happen next to move forward in their ābuying processā.
5.Ā Who did you say you could help?Ā If you said youād send some information or make an introduction but havenāt yet, follow up today and make that introduction via an email – sent to both contacts is usually best.
