Is your brand getting noticed?
Your brand is your business, the face of who you are, and often the first point of contact with potential clients when they visit your website.
Cultivating your brand, protecting and promoting it are all essential to business growth and development.
At Contacts and Cocktails recently, I was talking to Lisa Robinson, a PR specialist from Flare Communications, about her upcoming event called ‘Christmas in July’. Agh! The mention of Christmas already! PR consultants work three to six months ahead to get their clients in the press, so planning ahead is essential.
Do you want to get your brand in front of the press in time for the all-important Christmas gift guides? Do you have a brand that is perfect for Christmas gifts or a service that can be given as a present?
If you do, or know someone who does, please email Lisa today for further details of her Christmas in July event
Ok, now, to help you create your brand…
Here are 5 key points on how to get your brand noticed.
1. Who are you? You need to be able to define who you are and what you do in a short summary. If you can’t explain it in a few short sentences, how will your audience understand what you can do for them?
2. What makes you different? Your USP, unique selling points, are what make you different. Make them stand out, promote them and you will shine 🙂
3. Who do you want to talk to? Are you targeting businesses or consumers? or both? However, how you communicate to your audience will be the difference between clarity and confusion in the clients mind. Tailoring your copy to your target market is key if you want your message heard.
4. How do you talk to the press? There are a number of ways of communicating to your audience and the press is one of them. The media is a powerful tool and if you are communicating to them as a brand, you need to be newsworthy, knowledgeable and consistent in your approach. Journalists receive thousands of press releases everyday, so do make sure your message is concise and interesting, and that you are contacting the right journalist! – Contact Lisa, this is one of her expertise! If a journalist receives a press release that is not relevant to them, it will not only go into their junk file but it will leave a bad impression that you haven’t done your homework. First impressions count.
5. Cohesive Messaging – Do you have consistent messaging and images on your website, newsletters and email marketing? Is your facebook page interesting and on brand? Is your brand voice and personality working across all platforms?
There’s lots to do to get your brand noticed, so, give yourself a head start and take some time to work through these 5 points today.
If you’re stuck, please contact me today so I can steer you in the right direction.
To your success and happiness, be on brand today!
