Hello 🙂

We had a fantastic networking evening on Thursday at my event Contacts and Cocktails and met some great business owners.  A couple were new to networking so my events are a good place to start as we’re a happy and helpful bunch, and I always make the introductions during the evening.  So people can relax, and contacts are shared. #result!

Generally at networking events, people ask you ‘what do you do?’ or ‘who do you work with?’ or ‘who would be a good contact for you?’

Great, but if there’s 20 people at a networking event and everyone asks for 3 people to be connected to and talks about 3 of their services, wow that means you have 60 people to look for and 60 services to hear about. That can be quite overwhelming and confusing, can’t it?

So next time you’re out networking, may I suggest you pick ONE of your preferred clients you would like to be introduced to.  It’s easier for people to find that ONE person for you, rather than get confused with so many requests!

Also, if you’re talking about so many of your services or your entire product range, you’re probably talking too much! Relax and listen to the person in front of you and learn about them too. How can you help them?

Listen more and talk about just ONE of your brilliant services or products that’s relevant, and notice the difference it makes.

Talking of just one thing, my good friend Jacqui Newman from Hotspot Marketing recommended this book to me, called The One Thing  – ‘The surprisingly simple truth behind extraordinary results.’  I’m enjoying it and this quote from the book is very apt for today’s Monday morning missive, and tomorrow’s results 🙂

”It’s realising that extraordinary results are directly determined by how narrow you can make your focus.”

So, what is the ONE thing will you focus on today?

To your success and happiness,

Jo James xx
