On Saturday I conducted my anti-selling workshop at the Accidental Conference.
A brilliant day, where I shared some of my top tips on how to make the sales process easier for you. Working with the group, I loved seeing the realisation that they can make it easier for themselves, and how their shoulders dropped and their smiles appeared 🙂
Which one of these tips helps you relax more?
1. Start by taking the focus off yourself, and focus on the client in front of you.
2. “It’s not about you, it’s about them” It’s not all about your sales funnel, it’s about understanding your customers’ buying journey.
3. There’s no reason why you need to do a ‘cold call’ anymore. Sure we need to ask our prospective clients questions, but first do your research!
One of the women in my workshop was saying how frustrated she gets receiving calls from people that haven’t bothered to do any research first. She’s more than happy to answer questions, but not if the information is all online and readily available on her website or social media profiles.
Don’t make it hard on yourself! Do your research first.

What on their LinkedIn profile will help you to spark off a conversation?
