self belief

It’s nearly my birthday! And because of this, I’ve been asking myself if I’m happy with my lot?

Am I doing enough with my life?

I am, yes, but there’s always room for more!

I’m firmly of the belief we only live once so I want to cram in as much fun as possible! Although as well as having fun I seem to have to push myself out of my comfort zone and sign up for new things every year.

In the past this has included signing up for and completing 10K runs, moving house, changing career, starting businesses and signing up for courses in cooking, yoga, guitar, painting, copywriting and a mastermind group. I’ve already got plans for next year as it’s one of the big ones!

So far this month, I’ve signed up to two new workshops.

The first was a Comedy Stand Up Workshop with Funny Women, which was, as the title suggests, hilarious. It was such a different experience to sit there on Saturday morning with 15 women, from all different stages of life laughing at ourselves and with each other. There were 4 of us doing something around our birthdays, so I’m not alone! It was brilliant, I highly recommend it.  You can read details about the next one here.

The second one was with Paul McKenna at the IoD on Pall Mall.

Again, it was brilliant to see this man in action.  An empowering birthday treat.

Last Monday, a client came over from Switzerland to see me in my Mind Spa, the day after her birthday, so I can help her get rid of the self-doubt gremlins that were holding her back from doing what she wants to do.

She’s now ready to make some big changes in her life and bring in self belief.

From being privileged to have worked with over a thousand women who have come to see me for coaching and mentoring, the pattern is clear.

Most of us do it.

We question ourselves.

Our self doubt plagues us, annoys us and pushes our buttons. But we think about it for far too long and it starts to hinder us.

Sometimes it’s like an on-going record. Will it ever stop?

On the other hand self-doubt can of course be a positive thing.

It helps us have humility and hold on to the good things that we have in our lives.

It makes us strive to be better, to be curious and find answers to our questions.

What skills do you want to discover or develop next?
