Dreams come true and dreams change, don’t they? Are you doing what you thought you would be doing when you started your business and earning enough money? Or are you feeling like a slave to your business rather than leading it?
Sometimes we can get side tracked or find ourselves on a different path than the one we were so sure about when we first dreamed of our business.
I was talking to Sarah McAllister from Feng Shui Agency who has recently gone through a restructure of her business. From writing her forthcoming book, the Dreams Architect, it gave her the reflective space to refine her own dreams which also highlighted what wasn’t working for her any more.
After 10 years of running her business, there were certain aspects she wasn’t enjoying as much as she did when she started out. Sound familiar?
Out of working with a coach one of the things that became clear was the decision to delegate parts of the business that had become too repetitive and draining. This has been quite freeing to her and she has already committed to bigger projects. “It’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and once again I feel like the true creative Director of my business” Sarah said.
Your Action Point today is to take some time to reflect on where you are now and notice if you’re still on track with your dreams. If you still have your first few notebooks or mindmaps, have a quick look again at your original plans and see how far you’ve got and how much you’ve achieved.
